Lincoln County youth are primarily served by two Pre-K through 12 school districts in Lincoln Unified School District, #298, and Sylvan-Lucas Unified School District, #299. Both districts feature a professional faculty, a variety of extracurricular activities, modern technology, and great facilities.
Lincoln USD 298
The Lincoln USD 298 district serves the eastern half of Lincoln County along with a portion of southern Mitchell County and includes the communities of Barnard, Beverly, Lincoln, and Westfall.
The district has a long-standing tradition of excellence for kids from Preschool to 12th grade. It is large enough to offer a balanced approach to academics and fine arts yet small enough to permit a low teacher-student ratio. Academic awards and achievements are a source of pride for the district with Lincoln Elementary receiving numerous awards in the past including the Governor’s Achievement Awards, designation as a Blue Ribbon School, and a 21st Century Community Learning Grant. The Lincoln High School maintains a 1:1 laptop program or Bring Your Own Technology program.

Sylvan-Lucas USD 299

The elementary school, located in Lucas, houses the preschool to sixth grades. The junior/senior high school, located in Sylvan Grove, houses the seventh to twelfth grades.
The district strives to provide students with a safe atmosphere, balanced curriculum and a progressive education to help students become active, well-educated and responsible citizens. The school staff utilizes technology and community involvement as they challenge students to reach their full potential and prepare them for either post-secondary education or entry in the work force.
