Lincoln Senior Center – 2018 Downtown Design Assistance Program Project

The Lincoln Senior Center provides not only a social hub, but also provides Meals on Wheels deliveries to the community.  Unfortunately, the faded exterior was no longer doing the center any justice.  The interns were able to work with the organization to propose improvements that would spruce up the building and the entire block.

Proposed improvements include:

  • Painting the awning and siding
  • Installing a new sign
  • Painting the historic cast-iron columns on each side of the storefront
  • Adding vinyl lettering to the storefront and door

In the long-term, glass could replace the solid panels under the storefront windows to bring more natural light into the building and exterior lighting could help illuminate the building at night.

Besides utilizing their own funds, the Lincoln County Economic Development Foundation will be providing some grant funding to help implement the project.
