The 2016-17 Leadership Lincoln County class kicked off their year with a Meet & Greet Picnic on September 11 in Sylvan Grove. Their first class session was September 15 at the Lincoln City Hall. The class meets monthly, touring different local businesses and county organizations. The class will also tour another area Kansas town and visit Topeka this spring, and graduate in May. The class will also undertake a community improvement project and present their project plan at graduation.
Over the past 14 years, the Leadership Lincoln County program has helped residents and high school students increase their understanding of local assets, opportunities and challenges by going ‘behind the scenes’ of government, businesses and community projects.
The goal of the program is to grow community leaders by helping participants learn about the county from various points of view.
