Lincoln Center Antiques & Collectibles – 2018 Downtown Design Assistance Program Project

One of Lincoln’s newest downtown businesses, Lincoln Center Antiques & Collectibles is a treasure trove of unique finds.  The interns worked with the owners to propose improvements that could provide a fresh face to a historic building that hasn’t changed in many years.

The proposed improvements include:

  • Removing the infill from the original storefront opening and reconstructing the appearance of transom windows
  • Cleaning the face of the building and repainting
  • Installing a new sign (either as a panel or projecting sign)
  • Repairing the door hardware to ease opening and closing
  • Reglazing the storefront windows to improve energy efficiency

In the long-term, improvements could be to replace the storefront with one that includes stain-glass in the transom windows as seen in historic photographs.

Besides utilizing their own funds, the Lincoln County Economic Development Foundation will be providing some grant funding to help implement the project.
