“Parallels” is a multi-media installation of clusters of copper butterflies, steel grasses as well as a panorama of still and moving photographs. Zerger & Parker will be working with a group of Lincoln High School art students to create an installation in the back yard at the art center. The students working with Zerger & Parker are Keegan Wallace, Kristen Mahin, Molly Wallace, Jasmine Pritchard, Valarie Asheim, Jasmine Fenn, Kylie Hull, and Dylan Perez. Their work will also be on display on the evening of September 10th.
Ann Zerger’s formal MFA training at Wichita State University introduced her to artists such as Rodin and Giacometti – who use exaggeration & distortion to put into visual form. Chip Parker trained in architecture at the USC School of Architecture in Los Angeles. The simplicity of his design and the ability to adapt Ann’s gestural work to formal design as required in the built environment.
The installation will be in conjunction with an artist talk around the subject of prairie preservation. The ultimate goal of this installation is to encourage anyone to create their own Eco Arts spheres, to return a portion of lost natural/native habitat to its origins. Refreshments will be served.
This exhibit is free and open to the public. The art center is open Tuesday – Friday Noon to 4:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. – Noon. For more information call 785-524-3241 or email firstname.lastname@example.org, visit our Facebook page, or website Lincolnartcenter.org.
