The Lincoln Art Center will feature an exhibit of selected works by Russell Horton, Baldwin City, Kansas, and Topeka artist, Phyll Klima. The opening reception will be held at the Lincoln Art Center on Friday, March 8 from 5:30-7:30 p.m., and the exhibit will be on display through April 27, 2024.

Russell Horton currently teaches painting & drawing at Baker University in Baldwin City, Kansas. Horton has exhibited in solo shows in Providence, Rhode Island, Washington D.C., and Kansas City, Missouri. Recently he was named Landscape Artist of the Year at the Art Comes Alive exhibition hosted by Art Design Consultants in Cincinnati, Ohio. His work is in private collections nationwide as well at Clemson University and Baker University. Horton’s work examines the urban spaces and landscapes of the plains.

Phyll Klima is a ceramic artist who owns Studio Ceramic Arts in Topeka, Kansas. She is former Executive Director of Salina Downtown, Inc. Klima shows her work in numerous galleries across the state as well as Missouri. She teaches workshops at Fire Me Up Ceramics and Beyond the Round Pot to teach throwing, carving, and embellishing. Her work is in many private collections. The artists will speak at 6:15 and visit with guests, and refreshments will be served.
