
Lincoln County has recently been awarded $141,642 in CDBG-COVID Resiliency (CDBG-CVR) funding from the Kansas Department of Commerce to help local businesses modernize and prepare for future health emergencies.
The grant aims to support a wide range of projects including technology and infrastructure upgrades, professional development, and other initiatives aimed at preventing future closures due to public health crises.
Grant funds will be distributed to local businesses on a first-come, first-served basis. To be eligible, businesses must be:
- For-profit
- Open before March 1, 2020
- Have at least 51% of employees considered low- to moderate-income qualified
Maximum grant amounts are up to $30,000 for businesses with five or fewer employees or $50,000 for businesses with six to 50 employees.
Businesses interested in funding MUST submit a survey describing their needs to start their application process. The deadline for survey responses is Thursday, November 30, 2023.
An informational meeting will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, 6:30 p.m. at the Finch Theatre Community Room to go over the requirements of the program such as procurement processes, labor wages for construction activities, and potential liens on equipment purchased with grant funds.
