Decker Haunted Woods @ Decker Haunted Woods
Oct 24 @ 8:00 pm – Oct 25 @ 12:00 am

We are a go for Decker Haunted Woods 2020! We asked, and you said you would come if we built it, and so we begin!! We are going to be open 3 Saturday nights only. October 17th, 24th and Halloween night from 8pm to 12am. We hope to see you all in the woods soon!

Not recommended for small kids. It is super scary! We do have a bonfire area that has a kid friendly movie playing on a projector, and you can purchase some concessions. My college daughters work down there, and they are glad to watch little ones for free while adults go through. It takes about 15 minutes to walk through it all.

Nov 4 @ 1:30 pm – 2:30 pm

Food and Hygiene Distributions
In Lincoln on the first Wednesday of the month at the Lincoln County Health Department from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.

Each Wednesday, Catholic Charities Mobile Outreach Vans bring food boxes and bags filled with basic necessities like toilet paper, shampoo, soap, deodorant, and toothpaste to struggling families in north central and northwest Kansas.

Catholic Charities Mobile Outreach Vans keep the same schedule each month. The dates may change, but on the first Wednesday of the month, we travel to the same communities at the same times in the same locations. The second and third weeks are the same too.
The fourth week is also the same unless there are five Wednesdays, as the vans always travel to Russell and Plainville on the last Wednesday of the month. But Chapman, Abilene, Beloit and Osborne are always the fourth Wednesday of the month.
Consistency is important. We know people are struggling and the boxes of food and hygiene items are a lifeline for families in rural areas.
Food and hygiene items are also available in all three of our offices any weekday.
The Mobile Outreach Schedule can be viewed at https://ccnks.org/mobile-outreach.

Small Business Saturday (and a visit from Santa) @ Downtown Lincoln
Nov 28 @ 11:00 am – 6:00 pm
It’s almost that time of year – Santa Claus is coming to Lincoln Saturday, November 28!
Due to Covid-19 precautions, Santa won’t be able to sit and let the children come up one by one to tell him if they’ve been good or bad this year and what they would like for Christmas, but he is scheduled to fly down through Lincoln in a small Christmas parade and wave to all the children on Saturday, November 28 at 11 a.m.
In place of a visit with Santa, kids are encouraged to write letters to Santa, and put them in the special “Letters to Santa” dropbox before Saturday, November 28 at 11 a.m. Look for the dropbox in downtown Lincoln, and drop your letter in the slot, complete with your return address so he can write back before Christmas. Santa Claus will stop at the dropbox at the end of the parade to pick up the letters before he heads back to the North Pole. (Santa will pick up letters on Nov 28, but the box will still be available until Dec 12 for more letters).
Santa’s visit to Lincoln comes in conjunction with Small Business Saturday November 28. Local stores, shops and restaurants will be having specials, sales, and giveaways throughout the day. Follow the Lincoln Chamber Facebook page to learn about all that will be happening for Small Business Saturday and the Christmas festivities.
The Chamber will also be hosting an outdoor Christmas-themed photo booth in downtown Lincoln November 28, taking photos for one hour after the Santa parade is completed. Santa will not be able to stay for the photos, but families can still safely enjoy the opportunity for fun holiday photos without waiting in long lines indoors. A copy of the photo will be available for free with a coupon at the Patterson Health Mart Pharmacy. The photo booth will also remain setup downtown as long as the weather allows, for come-and-go, do-it-yourself selfie style photos.
To enjoy the holiday fun as safely as possible, the Chamber encourages everyone to wear masks, and stay well-spaced between family groups while gathering downtown on the sidewalks to see Santa and the short parade.
The Christmas festivities will continue Saturday, December 12 for another day of holiday fun and shopping local, including the free Christmas movie, sponsored by the Lions Club, as well as more Christmas shopping and fun activities to be announced soon!
