City of Lincoln Fire Department

The City of Lincoln Fire Department is an all-volunteer department that works together with the Lincoln County First Rural Fire Department to respond to all structure and grass fires within the City of Lincoln and the central part of Lincoln county. The city and rural fire departments respond and act as one department and also provide mutual aid to all structure fires within all fire districts of Lincoln county.

Outdoor burning within the Lincoln city limits including, but not limited to, firepits, garden debris or other materials, requires approval. Please call the Sheriff’s Office at 785-524-4479 and you will be asked to contact the fire chief as well. The City of Lincoln Fire Department responds with two trucks, the pumper truck and an 85′ ladder truck. The volunteer fire department is currently lead by Chief Jarrod Heinze and Assistant Chief Jeff Lyne. They meet the third Monday of every month. Volunteers are welcome, contact the Chief or Assistant Chief.
