Mission: To improve the quality of life in Lincoln, Kansas, by restoring the historic Lincoln High School building as a focal point for enhancing community education, arts, wellness, and small businesses.
Fundraiser/Volunteer Efforts: The 1922 Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, is dedicated to seeing the building redeveloped into a new kind of cornerstone for the community. Landon Cook, an architecture student at Kansas State University and 2017 summer intern for the Lincoln County Economic Development Foundation, considered the building’s future, measured the building and created floor plans for conceptual redevelopment ideas such as a business incubator, office space, event/banquet space, community center, medical clinic, brewery/bottling facility, classrooms, commercial kitchen space, or potentially residential apartments. These recent plans help bridge the gap between ideas and action towards any of varied potential uses for the space as a community hub.
