Here's our weekly rundown of Lincoln County entertainment options and special events for May 17-26.
* October Baby, rated PG-13, and The Lucky One, rated PG-13, will comprise a double feature May 18-20 at the Finch Theatre in Lincoln. Showtimes for October Baby, which runs one hour and 42 minutes, are 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday. The Lucky One will show at 9:15 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 5:15 p.m. on Sunday. * The Salt Creek Cafe in Barnard will serve Chicken Fried Steak from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 18. Steak night is planned for 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, May 26, and their lunch buffet will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, May 20. The cafe is located at 314 Main Street in Barnard.
* The Simmons Civil War Memorial marker will be placed at 4 p.m. Saturday, May 26, at the Simmons Cemetery west of Lincoln. The cemetery is eight miles west of Lincoln on K-18 near 130th Road. During the service, the marker for Edward Simmons, a Civil War veteran who was buried in the Simmons Cemetery 130 years ago, will be dedicated and his story retold. * The VFW Post 7928 in Lincoln and Off Key Productions will host karaoke at the VFW from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 19. Members and guests are welcome.
* On Saturday, May 26, a Hawaiian Luau will be held at the VFW Post 7928 in Lincoln. Luau festitivites will begin at 8 p.m. Members and guests are welcome.
